The prices on this site exclude VAT. Whether VAT is added to your invoice depends on where your business is and whether you have a valid VAT number.
Four cases
KRI is run from Finland, so Finnish VAT rules decide what appears on your invoice.
- Your business is in Finland: Finnish VAT is added. As a business you can reclaim it in your VAT return.
- Your business is in another EU country and you have a valid VAT number: no VAT is charged. This is the reverse charge, and your invoice states the consultation number from the EU’s VAT register as proof.
- Your business is in another EU country and you have no valid VAT number: Finnish VAT is added.
- Your business is outside the EU: no VAT is charged.
How your VAT number is checked
When you enter a VAT number, KRI checks it against the EU’s VAT register. If the register can’t be reached at that moment, KRI asks again when it issues your invoice, so a number that is valid isn’t charged VAT because of a temporary outage.
